PROJECT OF DIRECT TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY

Management of wild game populations through Bayesian analysis of information collected by sensors deployed on remotely piloted platforms.

The hunting activity in the region of Castilla-La Mancha has a high impact in the recreational, sports and business sectors, reaching estimates of economic contribution to the region of nearly 600 million euros. Given the importance of the hunting resource for the region, it is essential to ensure its proper management to achieve the sustainability of this activity.

The purpose of the project is to transfer the results of the development of activities planned activities, for the production of estimates of abundance of species of big game in the region of Castilla-La Mancha using technologies that allow the collection of information more efficiently than traditional methods. The information collected will be modeled using Bayesian statistics to produce population estimates that will be used to inform hunting decisions in the region.

With these results, it is expected to improve the application of services directed, mainly to the management of hunting farms in Castilla-La Mancha, and in general, to the rural environment. Direct impact on a new model of rural tourism and use of natural resources, according to one of the priority sectors of the RIS3 C-LM: Tourism. All this, in addition, with the implication of the use of the transversal ICT of the RIS3 C-LM, in the development of the technology.
